Develop your trainees’ scientific communication skills

“Storytelling” has become the preferred approach for scientific communication, whether for articles, proposals, or public discourse.  The NSF Graduate Research Fellowship application is our “model system” to show how to craft engaging and persuasive documents and digital media.

These awards are highly competitive—outside ~20 elite schools, only about 5% of applicants win. The success rate for students completing our course is four times higher. Even those who don’t win will gain valuable skills, conquer imposter syndrome, and craft personal narratives they can use for applications to other programs.

“we steer students towards compelling events and get them to frame those events in a way that displays their intellectual merit.”
